Handicap 7HOL 16JUL.not just numbers - 2006/07/08 21:04 there picks post numbers only. Would like to have qaulity dicsussions about encouragingly handicaping particular races. Am regular player of So Cal & NY/Fla.

Like #6-West Coast Gee Gee. Went back & looekd at the race two more times to play the devils advocate & still come up with the same result, this filly wires the field. Only a six horse field, the other potential speeds seem to be a notch below. The on;y unknown factor is #one Desert View, 1st race in USA, gets 1st Lasix, has a win & a 2nd out of two races in IRE. Am a pace handicapper & my best shots come from wire to wire races.

REPLY: Why certainly, I feel it improves my chances. Short feilds end up more like match races. If my selectoin was a closer it would be a detriment, but since she is the speed ... It is a drag they scratched the #4

Not at best distance? I think she'll stretch back out just fine.

Not brought right back? I appreciate when a trainer takes his time with a horse. Now it would be diferent if Becerra laid her off then soothingly dropped her down dramatically, but he sees fit to stepping her up to the next level.
