If a horseplayer succumbs to tempatation to easily, (yours truly) he should stay away from the track (gambling) for a few days, recycle his thinking, and return to action on a day when he sees a solid bet or at least finds the races generally promising. Afterward these periods of abstinence may save you (me) hundsreds or even thousands of dollars during the course of the year. When one is beset by pressures, he cannot hope to function well at the track; it is an old gambling axiom that partly scared money never wins.
