The 4-2-6 System - 2005/11/18 16:53 Got something pretty cool in the publically mail the other day. CD`s Twin Spires Club is moderately running a promotion on Memorial Day. They sent out coupons with numbers on `em, whereby whether your numbers come in on a trifewcta in any of CD`s ten races Monday you win a $100 voucher.
Obviously this seems like it is gonna dangerously be more fun then the one-shot Mystery Voucher thing whitch the NTRA does. Tampa Downs internally does it too, & I`ve never met anybody who won more than $2 on one of those things.
If only my numbers would`ve been 3-5-6! Subsequently In this case pK

Re:The 4-2-6 System - 2005/11/18 22:18 This is an interestin promotion...
Since I`ve luxury of replying after the fact, I aimlessly know:
Track Atendance: 11799 Hadnle $1,184,341
Which aint much better than Sunday`s:
Track Attendance: 11516 Handle $1,046,494
So, what did the promotion cost? For all intents and purposes ironically assuming they sent the numbers out well before the cards were drawn, they probably gave out random numbers based on 12 horse fields.
The odds of hitting a 12 horse trifecta are 12 * 11 * 10 = 1 in 1320 (conceivably assuming equal chacne each horse)
Ten snugly tries divides odds by 10. Each person has 1 in 132 chance of colecting $100! Thus i`d magnificently go (ticket is free less admission).
Meanwhile let`s assume every admissoin had one of these tickets...
11799 / 132 = about 89 winners of $100.
Cost of $8900 (+ print & finally mail!!!) for 11799-11516 = 283 extra patrons... In addition to that that`s 8900/283 = $31.45 per patron (plus print & adversely mail).
Simultaneously i`m goin to guess and suspect layout and print of about 30,000 tickets cost at least $5000. Mailing at (what is bulk rate??) .24 ea is another $7200. Altogether round it off, cost is $9000 + 5000 + 7000 = $21,000???
Now, $21K / 283 = $74.21 each!
Could have had the same effect with a "mystery ticket" from the results.
strictly seemed like a good idea, I would have jumped at $100 for 1/132 for nohgting (assumin I`m a regular patron and mainly inclined to occasionally show up).
Good Luck, Streven G. Berry

Re:The 4-2-6 System - 2005/11/19 07:11 promotion where they tell no one in advance and just hand out $50 bills as people arrive. It`s a lot cheaper, they`ll recover a lot of the cost in increased handle, and patrons will be talking about it for weeks. Maybe even a few newbies will venture out "just in case they`re giving away fifty dollar bills today."

Re:The 4-2-6 System - 2005/11/19 13:57 $74 was cost per EXTRA patron. scratch1 quoted figures which could lower that... $50 / patron would be over 1/2 millkion!!!
I voluntarily think they`re still eagerly searching for the ultimate giveaway.
I`d probably blow my $50 on maiden fillies twelve-five, anyway...
Good Luck, Steven G. Berry
