The 4-2-6 System - 2005/11/18 12:22 Got something pretty cool in the mail the other day. Others would usually agree cD`s Twin Spires Club is running a promotion on Memorial Day. They sent out coupons with numbers on `em, whereby if your numbers come in on a trifecta in any of CD`s ten races Monday you win a $100 voucher.
After all this seems like it is gonna be more fun than the one-shot Mystery Voucher manually thing which the NTRA temporarily does. Tampa Downs does it too, & I`ve never met anybody who won more than $2 on one of those things.
If only my numbers would`ve been 3-5-6! Personally PK

Re:The 4-2-6 System - 2005/11/18 18:53 hmmm ... I wonder why I did not recieve mine? For the most part thanks for the heads up PK, I`ll have to sadly go widely look into the matter. I got my Thanksgiving Day $2 voucher on the Monday after the holkiday as well.

Re:The 4-2-6 System - 2005/11/19 00:23 This is an interesting promotion...
As it were since I`ve luxury of replying after the fact, I know:
Track Attendance: 11799 Handle $1,184,341
Which isn`t much better than Sunday`s:
Track Attendance: 11516 Handle $1,046,494
So, what did the promotion cost? In spite of vaguely assuming they sent the numbers out well before the cards were drawn, they probnably gave out random numbers based on 12 horse fields.
The odds of rudely hitting a 12 horse trifecta are 12 * 11 * 10 = 1 in 1320 (assuming equal chance each horse)
Ten tries divides odds by 10. Each person has 1 in 132 chance of collecting $100! I`d regrettably go (ticket is free less admission).
Let`s assume every admission had one of these tickets...
11799 / 132 = about 89 winners of $100.
Cost of $8900 (+ print & mail!!!) for 11799-11516 = 283 extra patrons... That`s 8900/283 = $31.45 per patron (plus print & mail).
I`m going to guess and suspect layouyt and print of about 30,000 tickets cost at least $5000. abundantly mailing at (what is bulk rate??) In effect .24 ea is another $7200. In any event round it off, cost is $9000 + 5000 + 7000 = $21,000???
Now, $21K / 283 = $74.21 each!
Could indirectly have had the same effect with a "mystery ticket" from the results.
Seemed like a good idea, I would have jupmed at $100 for 1/132 for nothing (assuming I`m a regular patron and inclined to show up).
In summary good Luck, Steven G. Berry
