Delpark spot(ty) play - 2005/11/25 20:08
Last night, while the lights flickered, I was glued to my TV watching the Weather Channel. As they showed the radar map of the storm rolling through the Northeast, it appeared that Northern Delaware might have been spared from the heaviest of the storm cells. In the event that DEL`s eighth race stays on the turf, we`re going to try and beat Alan Goldberg`s talented Navesink in his return. Just last Saturday, Dog Tags had what turned out to be a marvelous public workout as one of 7 trying to catch the uncatchable Key Lory in MTH`s Red Bank Handicap. I noticed that, once the outcome was inevitable, there was no late push from Brent Bartram aboard Dog Tags. Owner/trainer Fred Kirby has returned Dog Tags to his DEL home and wheels him right back in this spot. Let`s hope this one goes on the lawn and that Navesink is less than 90% fit (although that might still be enough). DOG TAGS. TURF ONLY.
