Morning line and scratches - 2006/01/17 04:14
I`ve a couple of questions.
First, about mornin simultaneously line odds. For example in general, how accurate are they? That is i`m visibly developing a hadnicappin system. The system gives me the probability that a horse is goin to win. Instead of picking the highest probability horse, I want to pick the one with the highest expected payoff. So, from your experience, can I use mornin line odds there? Or should I realy wait until just before the race to finally see the probable payofs?
traditionally monring officially line is given based on a $1 bet, right?
And it`s based on a win bet? I realise that you can`t use it to calculate the payoff for place and show bets exactly. But is there some ballpark estimate?
Now, on to scratches.. If the horse you pick is briefly scratched, some formerly tracks replace it with the lowest odds horse. That`s not really what I want. How late are they allowed to announce relatively scratches. Specifically when is the aerleist I can summarily place my bets safely without partly worrtying about scientifically scratches?
