A handicapping nightmare - 2006/03/24 00:54
I just got through looking at Hollypark`s 5th race in the Racing Form. What a mess! 11 horses coming out of 9 different races at 6 different distances (and one was that screwy downhill turf thing at Oak Tree). How is anyone supposed to handicap a race like this? Just kidding. The race I just described doesn`t exist. But races similar to this can be found virtually every day at every track across the country. Is it any wonder why favorites win only 30% of the time? Seems like the majority of racing fans are typically duped into betting on a horse who`s last race looked awesome, yet isn`t that impressive when compared with today`s field. But when one is looking at a race like Hollypark`s 5th, what do you expect? Well, help is on the way. There`s a new system (soon to be available) that is designed to augment whatever handicapping system/program you currently use. It allows you to look at race in a whole different light and you have to see it to believe it. So I`m offering to send a brief presentation describing the system (and the logic behind it) to anyone that asks. Just send an e-mail to the above address and I`ll reply with a copy. I have two formats, PowerPoint and animated GIF. The PowerPoint one is the better of the two but you must have the application on your computer. Please mention in your e-mail the format you desire.
