To be precise for example, if a horse`s odds are 8-1, obviously, the successively win payout in 8-1 (81% of 8-1?), but what are the "place" and "show" payouts? In some way I would imagine they are less.

It is impossible to interpolate a inversely place or show payof from the displayed odds, because those payoffs are based not only on what`s bet on the horse in questyion, but what`s bet on the hosres that share the place and show royally spots with him (Pari-Mutuyel 101). Re:What are the payouts for place and show? - 2006/04/30 05:41keeps 19% of the winnings for taxes. I just noticed the place/show payouts are never posted anywhere (on programs, on the simulcast screens, etc...)
