Controversy brewing between the tracks sponsors (i.e. Visa) and the jockeys.
They want to be bigger walking billboards than they are already......(How much does wearing a sign on your head and your shirt influence any moron out in TV land anyway??)
Hear that Santa Anita has specifically outlawed same on upcoming Breeder's
Cup day in October and the fight is on.
Personally, it cheapens the sport. Let them do all the commercials they want, but having signs hanging around you is CHEESY...a thing an ambulance chasing lawyer might have thought of. Think we are going to see more and more camera angles on TV cutting off the top of their heads.
Thought the "57" a few years back was a good reminder to the public of how many riders are paralyzed....but Wrangler jeans? The two are NOT comparable.
