Inracing / Malcolm Knowles / Security? - 2007/05/01 09:39
Has anybody had anything to do with Inracing and Malcolm Knowles?
I subscribed to Inracing's "Ontrack" last Saturday and chose the "Express Post" option and expected to receive the system by FastPost thru this week. Not an outrageous expectation I thought
Wednesday I emailed. No reply. Thursday I emailed again. No Reply. Today, Friday 25th Jul I emailed and used the word "scam".
I received a phone call from him tonight and was told that my PIN's and System Booklet was being sent via email and not FastPost and that "it must be a setting in Outlook Express" why I am not receiving attachments. I tried to get across to him that I have been working in IT since 1985 yadda yadda yadda, but he wouldn't have it.
Because I wouldn't take his "advice" he started to insult me. He made mention of my password which was a worry. It is a word that Mike Moore and colleagues used in the Frontline program on the ABC to describe idiots. How appropriate that I used it on his system. What a concern this is that his system does not encrypt passwords, that he has access to them and that he uses them against his customers. I demanded that he take his crap back, but he wouldn't and hung up.
It turns out that my email provider, USA.NET uses Brightmail to filter SPAM. I am not impressed, not impressed with Inracing at all. Just another company in the industry with crap customer service.
