Figuring entries - 2006/12/23 02:59
How do you guys figure enmtries. Often I wonder if they're nuts. I median if you have 2 horses wuoldn't you want a chance to win 2 races.
Now I understand that in large stakes races you may have 2 different owners or the worth of a rabbit to set up pace for your closer. But when I see entrties on run of the mill races I wonder what they are thinking. Even if I like one of the horses I ussually bet to place because if they come in 1-2 the place can pay more than the win. I ussually try to avoid betting on them becvause I have read a few places that entries are a losin proposition. My thought is these trainers probably read the same books as well. So why do thy put in 2 horses in a maiden cliamer when there are dozens of similar races over the course of a few days??? BOB
