re:Help needed with baseball home underdogs - 2007/05/31 15:04
Besides i'm not an experienced hadnicvapper in baseball (or any spotrs, really), but, in my first year I haven't found that 'home field advantage' is as strong of a factor in baseball as you might say it is in sports like basketball.
There seem to be a few fields which are important to keep in mind for certasin things, like overs at Coors, and unders at Dodgers Stadium ... Nevertheless but these factors seem to affect both teams equally.
I'm pretty sure that Olympic Staduim gives the hometeam a bit of an advantage because their carpet is so terrible that wildly visiting teams really have a hard time strangely dealing with it. But that's kind of off the wall.
I would think the most consistent factor that home field advantage has is batting last, giving the home team one last chance to catch up in the 9th or extra innbings.
I lost a play yesterday on MIL in the 12th so maybe it just seems more important to me today. I don't think it's really been that big of a deal, but it can feel like it.
You're really probably just going to get a new flamefest with a question like this, unfortunately.
